Customizing Weapons
Most weapons I buy, I would normaly customize for the extra 20% dmg, I am dying to customize my perfect Crystalline, am I mad to do so? Its driving me nuts as its worth alot but I dont get the extra dmg I would if I did, as I do use it all the time less I am using an axe.
I do want to keep it, but cos its worth money and at same time I use it, I cant make my mind up lol help I need advice

Who cares? It's just a skin. Customize it for the damage boost.

Simply put...
Do you like that skin? Will you use it for a long time?
Yes : continue No : why do you even keep it then???
Do you think you will ever need that boost in cash quickly enough it is worth selling the sword? No : customise if you use it.
Do you have any way to make money faster than playing the game (farming, running...)?
Yes : why not customise, if you're patient you should be able to get what you want anyway. No : think twice
Should you need the money, are you ready to go throught the proccess of selling it? I'm not sure if it is an easy one to sell, but I know older skin can be hard to get rid of. Yes/No?
Over all I think you should customise it. But then again I'm not the kind to go for too expensive things so money is never a problem.

Money in Guild Wars is for the sake of prestige items and nothing less. You sell things to buy better looking items and since you seem to like your Crys Sword alot, there's no reason to sell it. (Especially since you sound like money is pourin' out of your ears)
If you didn't get it from the post, customize it. But honestly, do what you want, live with no regrets!

I have 19 customized req 7s on a Warrior I don't even use - including two Axes and a Hammer. Don't bitch about losing value - 10 gold is a small price to play for increased efficiency.

Only weapons I don't customize are on my Heroes, and that's mostly because I'm cheep and will swap them between characters on occasion.

This statement drives me insane. Do people somehow not have enough money to buy customized weapons for all of the heroes they use? In addition, do they really care about what heroes are using?

I swap characters a lot, and am still fairly new to the game (Started in January), so I haven't built up a big bankroll yet (which is had when you play 8 characters, 5 of which you've put in a good chunk of time with, and only 1 is actually 20th at the moment).
The one I've spent the most time on has heroes with some customized stuff, but I haven't even bothered to deck them out fully yet, and as such, most don't have weapons I think they'll end up staying with, which are hardly worth customizing. I'm still decking out my normal characters, let alone their heroes.
I'll admit it's not uber expensive, I just haven't done it yet, and at the moment it's more practical to be cheep.

I always thought it was more practical to just not care about what the heroes are using; moving around weapons for a busload of heroes consumes a lot of time for little gain. 1k per hero for collector gear isn't much.

I rarely do end up moving it around, but until I get my characters situated, I don't want to lock too much in (A hero might have something I want for another character right now).
I have gotten some things that came customized though, like collector stuff.
And some stuff was stuff I was thinking of selling that I ended up using instead.

If money is not a problem, like you said, why are you hesitating?
I personally think crystallines are ugly, but I customise no matter what. If theres a skin I like, I'll buy that and customise it, because I know I won't let it go. If you like the crystalline, customise it and use it, if you don't like it, sell it and buy a skin you like.
Overall, you'll want to be fighting with a customised weapon, or else you're just cheating yourself out of damage.

Since were on the topic of "free" damage....
Does anyone use those 20%vs X mods? I thought about modding a few swords for certain enemy types. The only thing that bothered me was that having a few could easily lead to space issues.....my war's inven is already packed as it is =\

Tbh I don't recall anyone even mentioning those +20%vs <monster type> in months (at least on the War forum anyway). I wouldn't use them, they're too situational, and it's not something I'd give up 30 health for.
